I am so lucky that I get the opportunity to travel so much doing a job I love. Last month I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Aimee and Gary’s stunning wedding in Provence.
Aimee and Gary both live in Singapore and as England is no longer their home, they didn’t feel it was the right place for them to get married. After extensive research and flying all over visiting venues, they decided on La Coquillade. With its vineyards and amazing views, the venue was a fantastic backdrop to the day’s proceedings and provided superb accommodation for their family and friends. I lived in France as a child and going back to the country for the first time in ten years reminded me of what a beautiful place it is.
The ceremony was held in a beautiful 13th Century church in the picturesque village of Ménerbes. Not only did the church provide beautiful colours and light (the light, oh the light!), but it sits atop a hill that gives stunning views of the surrounding landscape. After the guests enjoyed their own mini bottles of champagne after the ceremony, the celebrations moved to the venue with a cocktail reception on the terrace. The food was truly amazing ~ course after course arrived of the most gorgeous food imaginable. Speeches are always the favourite part of a wedding day for me, and Gary’s speech was especially lovely to hear as I got a very unexpected thank you and gift from them both. My camera proved perfect for hiding my blushing cheeks behind. After dinner came dancing which went on until 7am!
Aimee told me early on in her wedding plans that they both loved good food, wine and climate. Their wedding involved plenty of all three. I had originally met Aimee and Gary at Elaine & Alistair’s wedding last year, and since last month I have been booked by one of their guests to photograph their wedding next summer. I love finding new clients this way ~ not only are personal recommendations fantastic, but it also means I get to catch up with my clients again at other weddings!
To Aimee & Gary ~ I can’t say a big enough thank you for having me capture your *beautiful* day. I was overwhelmed by your generosity and kindness to me, and really enjoyed myself far too much! I hope you love your images and I cannot wait to design you an amazing album.
