nicola & chris ~ i do ~ part two

More from Nicola and Chris’ gorgeous spring affair. As a toy designer, Chris had told me he wanted to gather together an assortment of retro toys for guests to play in the evening, and did he do himself proud. There was Buckaroo, Pop-up Pirate, and Match of the Day to name but a few.  I loved their guest book idea ~ a vintage typewriter with blank paper for guests to type messages.  It made me desperate to get my blue vintage corona that I bought on a NY trip down from the loft.

Chris and Nicola even started off their evening reception by singing a song together ~ very brave and they pulled it off brilliantly.

I really loved being a part of your day guys, and hope you love the photos as much as I do.

The Californians might get the best of the sunshine, but I bet they rarely score a rainbow…

nicola & chris ~ i do ~ part 1

I am so in love with this wedding that I have had to split it into two parts.  Nicola and Chris got married at Pembroke Lodge, one of my favourite London venues for its amazing location in the midst of Richmond Park.  Nicola and Chris are most definitely creative types, and their day featured lots of artistic touches that made it very personal.  Nicola’s bridesmaid, Liz, made her gorgeous birdcage-veil headpiece, and the bridesmaid dresses were customised with a little red ribbon and corsage to give a cinched waist.  Nicola even made her wedding dress her own by adding a handmade corsage to the bodice.  I love these little DIY touches.

Red is one of my favourite colours for a wedding (I had it for my own five years ago) and it contrasted beautifully with the yellow daffodils that were scattered around the venue’s grounds.  Spring had certainly sprung.

Having photographed Nicola and Chris along the South Bank in January, I knew that photography was very important to them and they were keen to spend quite a while on portraits.  We took the Rolls for a spin around the park (as you do!) and got some gorgeous shots surrounded by all the beautiful trees.

Nicola and Chris are currently on their honeymoon in South Africa, and according to Nicola’s email to me this week, doing lots of sightseeing and wine-tasting. Very jealous!

Come back to the blog for part 2 in a few days….

beautiful wedding photography ~ ali & elaine

Last night I delivered Ali and Elaine’s album to them at their home in South London.  Their beautiful wedding at Pembroke Lodge was one of my highlights of 2009 and I was so happy that they love their album.  Ali and Elaine were recommended to me by my clients, Gemma and Stuart, whose gorgeous wedding took place the previous year.  Referrals are my favourite way of gaining new clients, so I am very excited to be photographing Aimee and Gary’s wedding in August, who were guests at Ali and Elaine’s wedding.

I know that Elaine is an avid follower of the blog, so I wanted to say a big thank you to her personally for choosing me as her wedding photographer.  Elaine, I hope you love your album for many years to come.  I loved spending time with you both on your special day and if the emotion of this photo is anything to go by,  you have a very bright future ahead together.

Steph Reid - Such a stunning pic Jodie, I can’t wait for mine now! Hope you are well x

Chloe - Oh, aren’t you a sweetheart!

admin - I can’t wait for your wedding, Steph! We will have so much fun capturing some beautiful shots of you and Andy.

~ Wedding Favourites of 2009 ~

The end of the year has arrived and what a fantastic year it has been for Jodie Chapman Photography.  2009 has been the most successful yet in terms of numbers of clients and achieving that elusive dream ~ job satisfaction.  I graduated from the Bespoke programme run by the prestigious Annabel Williams studio and was able to add journalistic experience to the CV by way of my monthly column with Photo Pro magazine.  It’s been such a pleasure to work with all my wonderful clients and friends in the industry over the last twelve months and to you all, I would like to say a huge thank you.

2010 looks as though it’s going to be even better, as I aim to push the portrait side of the business further into the spotlight, as well as photographing beautiful weddings in Kent, London, Suffolk, Somerset, Cheshire and even France.

Here are a “few” of my favourites from this year’s weddings.  Thank you to all of my gorgeous brides and grooms ~ you were fabulous and I loved every minute of your day!

{A selection of portrait favourites will follow sometime next week}
